What should be the purpose and reading material of Adivasi education, and how should it be taught?
The Kharia Langloor is not merely a primer for learning script and alphabet. It begins with the fundamental question: What is Adivasi education? What should be the content of instruction, and how should it be imparted? The Kharia Langloor seeks to answer these questions. Transcending the colonial education system of rote alphabets, its pedagogy, rooted in Adivasi worldview, proposes a new vision for Adivasi education right from the primary level. The ideal for this Kharia primer is the 'Kharia Reader,' envisioned and created in the 1950s and 60s by the great cultural leader and educator, Pyara Kereketta.
